iTouch Biometrics Completes Landmark Biometric Modernization for the Cook County Sheriff's Office
Nine-week deployment modernizes one of the nation's largest biometric booking operations with 400+ Live Scan systems, one million migrated records, and countywide mobile biometric capabilities.
When the second largest sheriff's office in the United States set out to modernize its aging biometric infrastructure, it selected iTouch Biometrics to lead the transformation. Just nine weeks later, Phase One was complete. The Cook County Sheriff's Office now operates a modern, enterprise biometric ecosystem powered by Accurate-ID, replacing legacy technology with a high-availability platform built for one of the nation's busiest booking environments.
Supporting approximately 100,000 annual bookings, 90,000 biometric submissions, and more than one million biometric records, the new platform delivers seamless interoperability with the Illinois State Police, the Chicago Police Department, and CCSO's Records and Jail Management Systems—creating a unified biometric environment built for one of America's busiest law enforcement agencies.
Working alongside CCSO leadership and technical teams, iTouch Biometrics completed enterprise integration with state and local criminal justice systems, migrated more than one million legacy biometric records, deployed over 200 Accurate-ID Live Scan workstations across 165 locations, trained agency personnel, and successfully transitioned the county to its new biometric platform—all within a nine-week implementation window.
By the Numbers
9 Weeks to complete Phase One 165+ Locations 200+ Live Scan booking workstations deployed 200+ Mobile CABS Tablets rolling out 1 Million+ legacy biometric records migrated 100,000 annual bookings supported 90,000 biometric submissions annually 3 high-availability servers operating in real time 0 single points of failure
At the heart of the deployment is iTouch Biometrics' Accurate-ID High Availability Architecture, where three enterprise servers operate simultaneously to continuously replicate every biometric transaction in real time. Unlike traditional primary/backup environments, this fault-tolerant design provides automatic synchronization, instant failover, enterprise disaster recovery, and uninterrupted operation—ensuring maximum availability for one of the nation's busiest booking systems.
With the enterprise booking environment now fully operational, Phase Two is expanding biometric capabilities beyond the booking desk. More than 200 Accurate-ID Mobile CABS Tablets are now being deployed throughout Cook County, giving deputies and field personnel the same enterprise biometric capabilities anywhere they work.
The Cook County Sheriff's Office deployment demonstrates iTouch Biometrics' ability to execute complex, enterprise-scale biometric modernization projects on accelerated timelines without compromising reliability, security, or operational continuity. As Phase Two progresses, CCSO is on track to operate one of the most advanced and resilient biometric identification ecosystems in the United States—setting a new benchmark for public safety technology.
